This week, Julian Smith MP met with James Calder, Head of Public Affairs at the Society of Independent Brewers, in Westminster, to discuss the breweries in the constituency and the impact of government policy.
Julian Smith MP today welcomed new funding for North Yorkshire Net, following their successful bid for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s Local Full Fibre Wave 2 Challenge Fund. Funding for NYnet’s project was announced by the Chancellor in his Spring Statement.
Julian Smith visited GoPrint3D in Ripon last week to understand more about the business and receive a tour of their premises. GoPrint3D are a printing business based in a business park just outside Ripon.
Julian Smith has welcomed today’s announcement that Craven District Council has made a successful bid for the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government’s ‘Land Release Fund’. A fund of £662, 125 will now be made available for the development of small housing sites in Craven.
Last Friday, Julian Smith visited Outwood Primary Academy Greystone School in Ripon to meet with the head teacher and answer students’ questions. Julian received a tour of the school and judged their art competition alongside the head teacher.
Last week, Julian Smith was shown around the Bentham Community Library by Craven District Councillor for the Bentham ward, Linda Brockbank. Julian has continued to support the preservation of this important facility, since North Yorkshire consulted on changes to provision in 2015.
