Julian Smith, Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, has welcomed the news that Pateley Bridge High Street is a finalist in the Great British High Street Competition 2016 in the Village category.
With more than 900 entries, this year’s competition has attracted a record number of applications, showing what a huge achievement this is and also that Pateley Bridge High Street is one of the nation’s best.
Pateley Bridge will now battle it out with the two other finalists in this category and, in order to win, will have to impress an expert judge, drawn from the range of High Street companies sponsoring this year’s awards. 50% of the final decision will be based on a public vote which starts today and ends on 18 November. Members of the public can vote for Pateley Bridge High Street once a day until voting closes at: http://thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk/finalist-village .
Julian Smith MP said: “It is a very impressive achievement for Pateley Bridge’s High Street to be selected as a finalist in this national competition. Pateley Bridge is facing some strong competition in the ‘Village’ category and so I strongly urge people to get behind this beautiful part of the constituency and to go online and vote. If you can vote once a day, even better!”
