Julian Smith has welcomed today’s announcement that Craven District Council has made a successful bid for the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government’s ‘Land Release Fund’. A fund of £662, 125 will now be made available for the development of small housing sites in Craven.
Last Friday, Julian Smith visited Outwood Primary Academy Greystone School in Ripon to meet with the head teacher and answer students’ questions. Julian received a tour of the school and judged their art competition alongside the head teacher.
Last week, Julian Smith was shown around the Bentham Community Library by Craven District Councillor for the Bentham ward, Linda Brockbank. Julian has continued to support the preservation of this important facility, since North Yorkshire consulted on changes to provision in 2015.
Julian Smith visited the TSB branch in Skipton last Friday to meet with Area Director, Lynne Walker and Bank Manager, Kellie Fry. He was shown around the branch, and they discussed the role of the bank in the area.
Parliament yesterday approved the funding settlement for English local authorities that will see a real terms increase in available resources over the next two years and give them access to over £200 billion from 2015 to 2020 to deliver the high-quality services their local communities need.
