Local MP, Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE, is urging residents, businesses and visitors to Ripon to take part in North Yorkshire Council’s consultation on the Ripon City Investment Plan.
The plan is part of a wider initiative to develop strategies for 32 locations across North Yorkshire, aiming to support enterprise, protect heritage, improve infrastructure and enhance wellbeing. Ripon has been identified as a Principal Service Centre, with the council keen for the plan to be bottom-up and Ripon-led.
Commenting Julian said, “This is an important opportunity for the people of Ripon to shape the future of their city. Whether you are a resident, work in or visit Ripon, your views matter. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey or attend the drop-in session at Ripon Market on Saturday 8 November, between 9:30am and 2pm.”
The plan is supported by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and aligns with the North Yorkshire Council Plan and Economic Growth Strategy.
The survey asks for feedback on, among other themes, transport, local events, and what people value about Ripon, and can be accessed here.
