Skipton and Ripon MP, Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE, is encouraging applications for the £15 million Heritage at Risk Capital Fund, which is now accepting Expressions of Interest from individuals and organisations working in deprived areas to rescue locally cherished, at-risk historic sites and buildings.
This funding, part of the government's Arts Everywhere Fund announced in February, aims to support projects that repair and enhance heritage buildings for the benefit of the local public and community. The Heritage at Risk Capital Fund complements Historic England's existing Heritage at Risk Repair Grants and is open to a wider range of local heritage sites, celebrating the historic buildings that people care most about.
Julian said, "This is a fantastic opportunity for communities across our area to preserve and revitalise our cherished historic sites. I encourage all eligible individuals and organisations to apply for this funding and help breathe new life into our local heritage."
The fund is intended to rescue at-risk historic sites and buildings in deprived areas. Expressions of Interest are now open, and interested parties are encouraged to visit Historic England’s website for full guidance, criteria, and application details.
