Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP visited The Plough, Wigglesworth on 1 October to congratulate the team on their recent success in Julian's Local Pub Awards 2026, where The Plough was named both Best Pub and Best Rural Pub.
During the visit, Julian toured the pub and met with General Manager Jonathan Booth and presented him with the pub's award certificate in recognition of the pub's achievement.
Speaking after his visit, Julian said, "The Plough is a fantastic local pub that plays an important role in the community. Winning both Best Pub and Best Rural Pub is a great achievement and a reflection of the hard work and dedication of Jonathan and his team.
"I hope these awards encourage even more people to visit and support this excellent local business."
The awards celebrate pubs and pub staff across the Skipton and Ripon constituency, recognising excellence in hospitality, customer service and community contribution.
