Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP was warmly welcomed to St John’s Church, Sharow on Wednesday 24 September, where he joined members of the growing Wonderful Wednesday craft group, a vibrant community initiative bringing people together through creativity, conversation, and fellowship.
The visit gave Julian the opportunity to meet attendees and hear firsthand how the group is helping to combat loneliness and foster a sense of belonging.
Speaking after the visit, Julian said; “It was a real pleasure to spend time with the Wonderful Wednesday group at St John’s. This initiative is a shining example of how local churches can play a vital role in supporting wellbeing and community spirit. I commend everyone involved for their dedication and warmth.”
