Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP visited Phoenix Forge Boxing Gym in Settle on Thursday 27 November 2025 to meet owners Lee and Hayley Stoker and learn about their new venture aimed at improving mental health and resilience in the local community.
Phoenix Forge is an extension of the long-established Phoenix Fitness gym and offers boxing and martial arts classes for both adults and children. The project was created to provide an inclusive space for young people and adults, particularly those with ADHD, autism, or mental health challenges, to channel energy positively and build confidence, discipline, and social connections.
Commenting, Julian said, “It was great to meet Lee and Hayley and hear about their commitment to supporting mental health through sport. Phoenix Forge will be a fantastic resource for Settle, offering a safe and inclusive environment for people of all ages to improve wellbeing and resilience.”
