He then held a question and answer session with the pupils, whilst also apeaking about the importance of British values, how democracy works in practice, and why public service matters.
Pupils also asked a range of thoughtful and engaging questions on topics such as farming, potholes and local business.
Speaking after the visit, Julian said, “It was fantastic to visit Boyle & Petyt Primary School. The pupils asked some brilliant questions and clearly care about what’s happening in the world around them. It’s so important that children understand how our democracy works and feel confident speaking up about the issues that matter to them."
