Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP is encouraging teachers across Skipton and Ripon to apply for the UK Parliament’s prestigious Teacher Ambassador Programme, taking place from 2–4 February 2026.

Hosted in Westminster, the fully funded three-day residential course offers educators the chance to explore Parliament, meet MPs and staff, and gain practical tools for teaching about democracy and civic engagement. The programme is open to teachers of all subjects and career stages, with travel, accommodation, and meals covered.

Commenting, Julian said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to deepen their understanding of Parliament and bring that knowledge back to their schools and communities. I strongly encourage educators across the constituency to apply.”

Applications close on Sunday 26 October 2025. For more information or to apply, visit the UK Parliament website here.
