Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP attended the 2026 Nidderdale Show in Pateley Bridge, joining farmers, exhibitors, local businesses and visitors at one of Yorkshire's best-loved agricultural events. The annual show attracts around 15,000 visitors and showcases some of the finest livestock, produce, craft displays and rural traditions in the country.
During his visit, Julian met, among others, the Farming Community Network, W E Jameson & Son, the Nidderdale Moorland Group, Whittaker's Distillery and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The Nidderdale Show is a longstanding celebration of Yorkshire's agricultural heritage and marks the culmination of the county's agricultural show season.
Julian said, "It was fantastic to attend this year's Nidderdale Show and meet so many people who contribute to the success of our rural economy.
“The show is a great showcase for Yorkshire farming, local food producers and countryside traditions.
“Our farming communities play a vital role in producing high-quality food, managing our landscape and supporting local jobs. Events like the Nidderdale Show are an important opportunity to celebrate everything they do and to bring people together from across our region."
Julian praised the organisers, volunteers and exhibitors whose hard work helps make the Nidderdale Show one of the highlights of the Yorkshire agricultural calendar.
