On 21 January, Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP visited the 2026 British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) Conference at the QEII Centre in Westminster, London.
The two‑day industry event, running from 21–22 January, brings together holiday and residential park operators from across the UK to discuss sector trends, regulatory developments, and opportunities for growth.
During his visit, Julian met with Thomas Marshall, owner of Riverside Caravan Park in High Bentham, who was attending the conference alongside other park operators. The conference, which will see BH&HPA transition to its new identity as the Holiday and Residential Parks Association (HARPA), includes expert-led sessions, networking opportunities, and an associated exhibition showcasing suppliers and innovations across the sector.
Julian welcomed the opportunity to meet with businesses and hear directly about current challenges and developments within the industry.
Commenting, Julian said, "The holiday and residential parks sector plays an important role in the Skipton and Ripon economy, providing high‑quality visitor experiences and residential properties. It was great to meet with Thomas and other operators at the conference and hear directly about the developments and challenges shaping the industry. I will continue to represent all stakeholders, providers and residents, in this really important sector locally."
