Ripon Cathedral

Julian Smith MP attended a fundraising event at Ripon Cathedral as part of his ongoing work to support the Dean’s development plans for a 21st century Yorkshire cathedral.

Mr Smith recently wrote a letter of support for the cathedral’s application to the Northern Cultural Regeneration Fund. Julian also spoke with the Chairman of the Heritage Lottery Fund in support of Ripon Cathedral’s lottery application.

Julian Smith said: ‘I am doing everything I can to support Dean John with his plans to upgrade and enhance the cathedral and it was a pleasure to attend the wonderful fundraising event last Friday.

‘The cathedral is a magnificent building and a significant cultural and historic asset to the Ripon community.’
