Supporting the NHS & Education

Since my election, I have been committed to ensuring our rural area receives a fair deal in healthcare and education.

I regularly meet with local GPs, Airedale NHS Trust, Harrogate and District NHS Trust, the Airedale, Wharfedale & Craven CCG, Harrogate & Rural CCG, and Yorkshire Ambulance to ensure that we are working together to get the best possible service in this rural area.

I worked hard to ensure that the fairer funding formula was implemented by the Department so we could address the historic funding inequality in rural areas like ours, and I have been glad to hear on recent visits that schools in our area have been pleased with the additional funding.

I also enjoy meeting with primary and secondary schools on their visits to Westminster. I take part in Q&A sessions and hear students and teachers’ views and concerns. I would encourage any school interested in visiting to get in touch with the Parliamentary Education Centre here to organise a visit!
